BIO SKETCH

Born in New York City, Marcia Neblett currently lives and works in Virginia.  She received a B.F.A. from Purchase College, the State University of New York, and an M.F.A. in Painting and Printmaking from Stony Brook University. 

Since receiving an M.F.A. in 1998, Marcia's drawings, prints and paintings have been exhibited in galleries and museum exhibitions, both nationally and internationally in New York, New Jersey, Texas, California, Mumbai, Dubai and Stockholm.  She has participated in numerous institution exhibitions including the A.I.R. Gallery in Brooklyn The High Museum of Art in Atlanta, The Bronx Museum of the Arts in New York, The Lalit Kala Akademi in Chennai, India and the Nehru Center in Mumbai, India.  Several of her drawings and prints are in the permanent collection of The Arts Students League of New York and The MacDowell Colony and the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi.  Marcia has been the recipient of grants from the Fulbright Scholar Program, the Jerome Foundation, the MacDowell Colony, The Alden B. Dow Creativity Center and the New York Foundation for the Arts. 

Marcia maintains an active teaching schedule and has been a faculty member at several universities including Cazenovia College, City University of New York (Baruch), Farmingdale State College, Savannah College of Art and Design and Norfolk State University, where she currently teaches as Assistant Professor of Fine Arts.
